An independent, exploratory ski-mountaineering expedition to Scoresbysund, Greenland
Welcome to the site.
NEW You can now watch the descent sequence from Phil's film of the expedition Arctic Tracks.
Our Greenland 2004 expedition explored Liverpool Land in north-east
Greenland at the end of winter, using skis to ascend many of the peaks along
the peninsula. Access was by dog sled along the sea ice to establish a
suitable base camp. We will then climbed peaks as one or two day excursions,
periodically moving the base camp as required. For more details of our
route please see the expedition outline.
We expect to left around 21st of April 2004 and stayed for four weeks. The trip was wholly independent and
self-funded. We attracted some sponsorship from various exploration funds, for which we are very grateful, and also shot extensive footage for a film of the trip that we hope will be broadcast on the National Geographic channel.
Please do get in contact with us if you would like any information about the region, help in planning your own trip, useful contacts etc.
